I Am an American

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I am not a global citizen. Am I a citizen of the world? Yes. Am I a global citizen? No. I am an American citizen.

I am not a White-American. I am not an Anglo-Saxon American. I am not an Anglo-Franco American. I am not a German-American. I am not a Scottish-American. I am not an Irish-American. I could be, but I choose not to be so limited, confined, and imprisoned. I am an American.

I am not a Northern-American. I am not a Southern-American. I am not an Eastern-American. I am not a Western-American. I could be, but I choose not to be so limited, confined, and imprisoned. I am an American.

I am not a Male-American. I am not a Baby-Boomer-American. I am not a Christian-American. I could be, but I choose not to be so limited, confined, and imprisoned. I am an American.

WE are "one Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all" Americans.

It is imperative, for our "One Nation," for "We the People" to cease our divisive mincing, parsing, slicing and dicing, into increasingly atavistic, polarizing pieces, segments, strands, and camps. United, we stand; divided, we fall. Period.

Should America fall, it will not be caused by attacks from beyond The United States. It will be caused by self-destruction from within through divided states, regions, and peoples.

Singular, united nations, peoples, and ideologies beyond The United States challenge us: One Nation, We the People. Some are overtly contentious, oppositional, confrontational, and/or adversarial. Some are overtly and covertly committed to our failure as One Nation, as We the People. Some are covertly dedicated to our destruction, our annihilation.
