In dogs, Omega fatty acid supplements, have become widely accepted as a recommended part of a daily nutritional recommendation. For many dog owners, ensuring the health of a family pet, for many years, is the primary focus when purchasing dietary and nutritional products. Understanding the implication of Omega fatty acids in your dog's diet, will ensure a more educated and nutrient saavy dog owner.
As a fatty acid supplement, Omega fatty acids are a necessity for canines to ensure complete cell composition and facilitate specific cell functions within the family pet. Working to prevent infection and boost the immune system, Omega fatty acids are produced naturally within the body. In dogs, however, there is one Omega fatty acid that is not produced naturally and, therefore, must be acquired through a dietary supplement. Known as Omega 6, this essential fatty acid, promotes the further stimulation of the Omega 3 fatty acids in the dog's natural system. Without Omega 6, your dog may be losing the optimal performance enhancement of the fatty acids of the canine diet. As a dog owner, how do you know if your dog is deficient in Omega 6 fatty acids?
Omega 6, in dogs, when in correct balance ,will net a healthy, active and vibrant dog. In dogs deficient of Omega 6 fatty acids, the skin will be dry and course and the dog's coat may appear to be overly oily. In some cases, the dog will exhibit behavioral changes only present when the Omega fatty acids are out of balance. Therefore, ensuing a diet high in fatty acids will improve the family dog's quality of life.
