The Memphis in May Festival is going to be held from May 2 - May 4. Many musical artists are going to be performing. Everybody has musical artists they would like to see perform. Here are the musical artists that I would like to see that are listed as performers on the Memphis is May Festival schedule.
Colbie Caillat
I found out about this artist from a song on my cousin's MySpace page. I loved the song, "Bubbly," that she sang and went to her MySpace page from there. I found that she is a very talented singer and songwriter. Her voice is also very pleasant to hear and she tells great stories through her music. Since then I've heard some more of her songs and gotten to watch an interview with her. I enjoyed all of it and know that I will support her singing career.
Sheryl Crow
I honestly do not know much about this musician. However, one of my favorite songs at times is the song "My Favorite Mistake" by Sheryl Crow. I also know that I have enjoyed her songs when she has been the musical guest on late night talk shows. I have also heard just a few songs on MySpace and out of the many performers on the list, I think she'd be one of the more enjoyable acts.
Aretha Franklin
I think it would be great to see this legend perform. I'm not a huge fan of her songs, but I know that I have heard them and there a few that I enjoy when I do hear them. The song that I know and that I know I like is RESPECT, and I'd imagine she would sing it at the Memphis in May Festival because she's so well known for this song.
Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
While it is true that I mainly like oldies, ballads, and Christian music, there are other styles of music that I enjoy. Not surprisingly, I like some of the '80s since I was a child during those years and heard many of the songs. However, it can be a bit of a surprise that at times I can like Joan Jett. I came across her music when I first heard the song "Bad Reputation." I had included the song on a mix CD with songs by Letters to Cleo. I don't enjoy the loudness of the rock and punk music, but I think it would be fun to see Joan Jett and The Blackhearts perform, even if I did have earplugs in my ears.
