"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times"

These famous lines are from the historical novel, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. Charles Dickens' novel recounts the revolution of the grassroots against the French aristocracy. Charles Dickens tells the story of the French Revolution by deeply discussing the corruption and abuse of the French aristocrats towards the peasants. Overtime, the peasants united together in one of greatest revolutions in history.

Barack Obama has created this same type of atmosphere in the United States. While Barack Obama's movement is definitely not as great as the French Revolution, this fascinating phenomenon can be called a revolution because millions of Americans, from different races and backgrounds, are coming together unexpectedly for a common man, who is not apart of the establishment, known as Washington, D.C., which is currently run by the Bush Administration. Barack Obama seeks to change Washington's politics in a way that has been tried by few, but not ever accomplished. He desperately wants America to come together to form a New United States of America. A United States of America, where the government is not run by dirty politicians.

Barack Obama is already changing America by extremely exciting Americans to believe again. One of his essential messages is, "I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington, I'm asking you to believe in yours." Barack Obama has given hope to millions of Americans, who want real change in Washington. Many individuals compare him to John F. Kennedy, because of his ability to inspire so many Americans by reaching into their hearts and souls. Some may disagree that Barack Obama is changing America to this degree, but one cannot deny that a Barack Obama movement is occurring.

Honestly, if my first views of Barack Obama were his "change" speeches, I probably wouldn't be as big a supporter. I didn't need to hear speeches about changes. I needed to know exactly WHAT the changes he wanted were, but I read his books before he agreed to be president, so I was well aware of the types of things he wants done. By his family being from Africa, I believe he will be the first president to concentrate on eliminating HIV/AIDS or at least preventing it. By him being a Black man in a poverty-stricken area for a short time, I think he will be able to sympathize and try to improve communities like this with jobs. Because of his understanding about the war and disagreeing to the War on Gas in the first place, I feel he'd do a better job of getting American soldiers the hell out of there. I'm an Obama supporter, and I also agree with Reverend Wright's comments, although I wish Rev. Wright would shut up with the continuous slick comments he made AFTER Obama's speech.

I am a Clinton supporter, but appreciate your passion for the candidate that you support!

I did not support Clinton because she not only voted yes to the war of aggression in Iraq, she defended her position to Code Pink a few years back. Yes, I contacted ex Pres Bill with my anti-war stance many times during his term in office. As one Marine Iraqi war vet said: for every 2 or 3 enemy we kill, we wake up 10 or 12 more. I wonder how many terrorists were born out of Bill's air strikes in no fly zones? Not that those innocent children dead due to our bombs in civilian areas were ever my enemy. Hillary votes like men; she voted yes to the Iran Resolution. Obama wrote the counter resolution to slow down a rush into Iran. She and McCain will put us in grave danger if they persist in status quo yesterday politics. To the unenlightened: that is the meaning of change. Into Iran means welcome back draft and perhaps the 'my girl" Clinton followers will love equality and drafting of our college age females along with the guys. No thanks to me.

All they need to do is go to Open Secrets online and find out who her special interest groups are. Health care plan? Her plan is mandatory insurance with government penalty. Her followers scream: good, the 'bums' need to pay their way. Obama knows the reason people do not buy is they can not afford. I saw sample premiums of Hill's insurance and I could still not afford. So her solution would be to slap me with a fine or garnish my wages? It also discriminates against some citizens. Wiccans or Hopi-Americans or new age types, for example who may use alternative sources of healing not covered by traditional insurance. She will force them to buy what they can not use~and in many cases~can not afford the extra bill. College students are struggling as they work to pay fees and again her plan does not work unless she forces them to go into more debt. She is wacky if you ask me.

Think it was Styx and the Class of '83's theme song in the area I lived in that used that line. The comments on this article are sad. The primary elections started in Jan; the campaign has been going on almost a year; there have been, what, 21 televised debates and they still are asking questions that have been answered hundreds of times? Change: Hillary said in an early debate she will continue to take lobbyists money because "like it or not those lobbyists are real Americans". Today Hillary followers are chanting about how she is going to fight those special interest groups in DC. She knows she has PACs. She knows she speaks with lobbyists hired from countries such as China, Turkey and the UAE, Dubai. She knows Bill has been earning millions with his Dubai biz partner Sheik buddies. She should know about the inhuman treatment of Dubai workers. How many Hillary voters know Bill is trying to ditch his Dubai biz partner, so it does not hurt her campaign"

There are alot of people who don't agree with him or understand. As a supporter of his, i try to do my best to make those people understand why so many people are for him and why he can change america :)

Great presentation on this. This is surely one interesting year with Obama and I think Americans all over are very focused on this and this new found inspiration. Thanks
