Just when you thought all gangs in the world represent themselves in the way we'd expect them to be--the longtime gang/organization Hells Angels still insist that they aren't anything more than a benign group who love motorcycles and long road trips. However, you can't blame the international public (or law enforcement) for thinking otherwise. Just in the last ten years, there's been numerous major crime busts against members of the Hells Angels. All of this when we learn in the media that they were supposedly at their most viscous in 1969 when they tried to assassinate Mick Jagger after the big-lipped one pointed a finger at the gang for causing the stabbing death of an audience member at a Rolling Stones concert. What a coincidence all this publicity happens smack dab on the 60th anniversary of the forming of Hells Angels. Considering the legendary stories about their power, it makes you wonder if it's more than coincidence.

While various segments of the organization still debate when and who started the Hells Angels--most historians are sure it started in March of 1948 down in Fontana, California where motorcycles and racecars are perennially popular. The name came indirectly from the Flying Tigers in WWII who were part of the 303rd Bombardment Group who, as a unit, voted to be subtitled "Hell's Angels" in 1944. In 1948, motorcycles were starting to become a popular pastime in America and the name Hells Angels Motorcycle Club was the official title given by one of those former members of the 303rd above. His name was Arvid Olsen who's officially credited by the Hells Angels today for merely giving the name of the group in Fontana rather than joining the organization. What the details and motivations behind that story are is still shrouded in myth, which isn't all that surprising.

I just read your write up and it seems strange to read, it's because my son is also a Adam Youngblood and he also died on his motorcycle at age 34 here in Arkansas but he wasn't a part of the Hells Angels or not as far as i knew.

I know the Hell's Angels have always been in the news. My mother told me stories of when she was a bartender and going to college and how rowdy things got when they came into the Poop Deck in Houston (prior to 1977). I don't know either way if they are good or bad. I do however know a man I grew up with since 12 that was an associate to the Hell's Angels, and he was my best friend. He was the best motorcycle rider I have ever known. He did get in trouble, but he didn't start trouble. Being associated with Hell's Angels usually was the reason he was under the eye of the law and the central attention point wherever he went. God, rest his soul. He was killed in a motorcycle accident 3 weeks ago at age 34. Hell's Angels, good or bad, had one of the kindest and smartest men I knew associated with them, Adam Youngblood, Arkansas.

In 2001, after receiving permission from the club, he nearly beat one 60-year-old man to death, and stole the man's Hells Angels paraphernalia.I just read this online I think this same angel over the last year got life in prison for killing another old man.

Lets see over the last year year I have read the following stories about hells angels members. Dave from Nevada the President is on child porn charges . The police said they caught him with his lap top full. Russell sinkis Mass has a little girl saying he sodomized her and 3 women have orders of protection on him Robert Thompson from Cali is going to trail for murdering 2 little girls.Danile Roberts Maine shot a mother of three in the back of the head got 55 years. Paul Eischeids wanted for killing a mother of 6. That's 5 angels I read about this year on charges of harming or killing women and children and that's only what I saw in the paper over the last year. I wonder what goes unreported.
