When I was pregnant with my son, 2 whole years ago, I was given many different things for him. One of the things that I was given for him was a bottle of Baby Avalon Organics Weightless Nourishing Baby Lotion. I myself rarely use lotion and really had not intended on using a whole lot on my newborn either, however I was glad that I had a product if the need for some lotion arrived.

The bottle of Baby Avalon Organics Weightless Nourishing Baby Lotion that I had was 6 fl oz, quite a bit. To use it up in a time of infancy would be near impossible unless you were applying it regularly, so I knew that it would last me a very long time. The first time that I used it I used a tiny bit on my son, I believe he was about a month old. It smelled nice and all was well. I didn't have any complaints although there were very few times that I thought that my son needed lotion and so we barely have made a dent in the amount of lotion that came in the bottle.

In addition to being certified organic the Baby Avalon Organics Weightless Nourishing Baby Lotion ingredients are also vegetarian and the lotion is not tested on animals, something as a vegetarian I am fond of. In addition it didn't have any harsh preservatives or artificial colors, although I am sure that it did have some natural preservatives in it. All in all I didn't have any initial complaints with the product and would recommend it to anyone who wanted to get a gentle and organic lotion for their baby and think that they will use the bottle up in a timely manner. The bottle cost around $10.

I must add though that the lotion will not last forever, I have had it in my bathroom for months, my son is now 20 months old and has not used it since before his first birthday. The other day I was cleaning my bathroom counter and after moving it out of the way I decided I would stick in the diaper bag, to save bathroom counter space and to maybe use it again. My son saw it and brought it over to me and so I put a little dab on him and on myself. I was very disappointed, the fragrance had gone sour, of course I don't blame this on the product. Clearly I just didn't use it before it was expired, with no harsh preservatives it can't last forever.
