In the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, we find the definition of prosperity as a successful, flourishing, or thriving condition. Prosperity can be something we experience in any area of our lives - romance, finances, friendships, career, etc. Calling forth prosperity in your life is asking for an abundance of romance, an abundance of finances, an abundance of friendships, etc.
Building and honoring your own prosperity altar is an act of faith, so to speak. If you've been praying for prosperity, this is a way to meet the situation halfway, as I believe, we are all co-creators of our own human experiences.
One of the energies that will be mentioned here a lot is the color green. Some of your items on your prosperity altar should be green. In an article published on Home Decorating Room-by-Room, they talk about how green has healing energy and how in Feng Shui it is considered a color symbolizing prosperity and abundance. Therefore, I feel it would be a great idea to use on your prosperity altar.
Below is a list of items you can gather for your altar, however, do not feel obligated to use only the items I mention here. Once you get the idea from looking at the list, feel free to get your own items to customize your prosperity altar to fit your needs.

One small table (i.e., end table, small card table, etc.)
Green candles
A dollar bill or any other amount of cash
