Winnie The Pooh is an extremely popular Disney character, Pooh themed birthday parties are an awesome way to celebrate that special day. There are so many Pooh products available that it can seem a little overwhelming when trying to plan out the events. Here are some things that can help the big day go a little smoother. Stop by your local library and get some age appropriate Pooh themed books. Younger kids love hearing someone read to them and for the older kids, you can enlist them to help out. Most libraries have VHS and DVD titles that you can check out, this is a nice way to carry the Pooh theme to every room of the house. Make sure you check the return dates on movies and tapes that you check out at the library, most are only good for one week before they issue you a daily fine.
If you are on a budget, start hitting yard sales and check Craigslist for Pooh things. We got some gently used Winnie the Pooh sheets and used them to make birthday banners with some markers and a cheap wood frame. It only took about a half hour to make and it looked great sitting outside the house with some balloons attached to it. Ask family members if they have anything Pooh related that you can borrow or have but be sure to keep track of things that need to be returned and do it in a timely fashion.
There are a lot of different games that you can plan for your party. Pin The Tail on Pooh is always a lot of fun but piñatas are also extremely popular. You can get them in a variety of sizes and shapes and for younger kids there are ones that have pull cords to them so they don't have to hit it with a stick. If you are going to get a piñata then you will need to fill it; places like Party City and Oriental Trading Company sell a lot of small inexpensive things that you can put inside but don't overlook things like candy bracelets, small toys, bouncy balls, mini crayons sets and plastic eggs that you can put coins into.
