The Air Mouse is like any other high-quality wireless optical mouse but with one significant difference: it can be controlled through the air up to 30 feet away from the computer.
It's simple: the user holds a button on the backside of the mouse and moves their hand like a wand in any direction, and the mouse follows.
I bought mine a few months back after my old wireless mouse began running through two AA batteries every week. I figured it would be cheaper in the long run to buy a new mouse rather than buy batteries all the time. The main factor in my buying a mouse was whether or not it was self-charging, as I was sick of dealing with batteries.
I just happened to stumble upon the Gyration Go 2.4Ghz Cordless Air Mouse at the electronics store and thought that I mouse I could use from across the room would be a cool thing to have. I already had a wireless keyboard that I occasionally used from the bed, but a mouse to go along with it would be perfect. Having a wireless keyboard and air mouse would allow me to lay in bed surfing the web--it would be the next best thing to getting a laptop. And as it was one of the least expensive self-charging mice I could find, I decided to give it a try.
And I'm extremely glad I did. Almost every night I lay on my bed surfing the web with my Air Mouse, chatting and clicking away as easily as I would if I were sitting at the desk. I'm much more comfortable than I was sitting in my computer chair for hours at a time, and I'm sure my back is better off as well.
Do you know what I like about it almost as much as its great wireless capability? I haven't had to buy batteries in months! The Gyration Air Mouse has its own rechargable battery installed, and comes with a charging cradle that juices the mouse up whenever you aren't using it. No more wasting money on batteries or taking them from television remotes or alarm clocks when you don't feel like making a run to the store.
