When is the Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade 2008

The Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade takes place on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at noon. The organizers state that they are holding the parade before the actual St. Patrick's Holiday this year, since they always hold the parade on a Saturday, regardless of when the actual St. Patrick's holiday falls.

Parade Route

The Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade 2008 steps off at the intersection of Balbo Drive and Columbus Drive, according to the organizers. The parade takes a pretty straightforward route and does not veer off onto any other roads. The procession heads north on Columbus Drive, and stays on Columbus Drive until the participants reach Buckingham Fountain. (Chicagostpatsparade.com)

Getting There

The Organizer of the event recommend that you use public transportation. The Green Line, Orange Line and the Blue Line will all take you to Wabash Drive. Then simply head East to find Columbus Drive.

If you exit the Blue Line or the Red Line at a loop stop, you can also head east on foot to Columbus Drive, where the parade route is. (Chicagostpatsparade.com)

Parking

If you're going to the parade, head out early if you want to find parking. There is parking available along Wells, and on Wabash. Further away, you will also find parking at Navy Pier.

Accessibility

If you seek handicapped parking, the parade organizers advise you to head to Columbus at Randolph and enter the underground parking below Grant Park. The also advise that there is handicapped parking on Balboa Drive and Michigan, at the Hilton.
