Product Review: Philips Norelco HP6490 Satinelle Soft Epilator

As I am sure every woman out there knows, hair removal can be a major annoyance. There seems to be a problem with every method that exists. Shaving only lasts a day and I seem to miss spots because I try to do it too quickly. Waxing is painful and expensive. Not to mention you have to find the time to go get it done. Waxing by yourself at home makes a mess and is hard to do unless you have a strong will. Let's not even talk about the burns I have received from chemical hair removers. I figured there had to be a better way. I purchased the Philips Norelco HP6490 Satinelle Soft Epilator from Amazon.com for $45.

I love this product. I have had mine for about three months now and have gotten great results with it. The first couple times I used it, it hurt. It didn't hurt as bad as waxing but it still hurt. The massaging head does help to reduce the pulling sensation especially in more sensitive areas. However, the pain level decreased a lot after using it for a couple times.

I really like that it can remove hair by the roots so that it won't grow again for about a month. The hair grows in in cycles so you will probably need to use the product daily for about a week to get rid of all the hair the first time around. I find that my legs are now just as smooth as they are when I used to get them waxed. They are definitely smoother than when I was trying to shave every day.

Another great aspect is that you can use the epilator for a few minutes, stop to do whatever you need to do, and continue using it. You would never be able to do this while trying to wax at home or even using a razor. I really like not having to shave especially when I am on vacation. It is one less thing to worry about.

I have not had a problem with this epilator pinching like some other people have said about other models. When you use it on your underarms, try to pull the skin tight to prevent this problem.

I recommend this product to anyone who is not already using an epilator. I believe it saves time and money because you will not be purchasing new supplies all the time.
