Twins Update

Tuesday, March 4, 2008 Twin's Update;

Well last night was another night of fun and excitement. Game time 7:30pm Twins vs. Dodgers with Dodger's up to bat first. My son is pitching for the first time this season and I was so nervous. He did not show an ounce of nervousness until he began pitching. When my husband and the coaches seen he looked a little nervous the just yelled out "EJ just relax and find your target, c'mon catcher give him a good target". After that he was fine.

He pitched three innings and did a wonderful job! He was so excited and relieved that out of the three innings he pitched, he only walked two, struck out four and a few of them got hits off of him, but they were ground balls hit to the infield and they worked at getting the outs. It was so nice to see his confidence come out after he relaxed and just pitched the way his Dad taught him to.

Twin's first time up to bat and my son got a beautiful line drive between short and second base. He got on base with two outs already and the next batter up hit a fly ball which was caught to make the third out. Second inning EJ hit, but swung late so his ball did not go but a bit past the pitcher so he was out at first. Two of his other teammates brought in two runs that inning, but the Dodgers had three. Bottom of the Third inning, our time up to bat and they got us out 1, 2 and 3. Next up to bat Dodgers we did them the same favor. Fourth inning and our team started hitting the ball and hard, up the middle, line drives, pop-fly short of left and right field. EJ up to bat struck out but we tied the game at three going into the Fifth inning.

Fifth inning and EJ is up to bat once again. Hit's a beautiful pop fly short middle between second and center field gets on base. Next batter up gets a nice hard ground ball right past short and brought EJ to second and then he stole to third and an RBI brought him home. Another batter up brings another kid home. Now the score is 5-3 Twins. Sixth and Seventh inning, either team had no runs or hits we hold the Dodgers to the score and Twins win the game.
