Hotel Review: Key West's Pier House Resort and Caribbean Spa

During a recent trip to Key West, we stayed in a different hotel each night to get a taste of the area. The most exclusive resort that we stayed at was the Pier House Resort and Caribbean Spa. The hotel was very relaxing and really helped us to get into the spirit of Key West. After all, it was the first luxury resort in Key West.

The resort has a variety of different guest rooms and suites available. They range from casual to elegant to fit your tastes. All rooms have wireless internet, in-room movies, hairdryer, iron, complimentary coffee and coffee maker, and a wake-up service. There are one and two bedroom suites that have private balconies with views of either the gulf or the Pier house Gardens. Rooms vary in price from around $250 to $350 per night.

The resort has a variety of different dining options on the grounds. The Harbourview Café is a great place to get breakfast in the morning before starting off your day. The Wine Galley Piano Bar opens at 7PM each evening so you can enjoy a glass of wine and a variety of piano music. The Beach Bar and Grille is a great place to get lunch or dinner with a tasty tropical drink. We tried each of these places and the food was delicious at each.

The Key West Caribbean Spa is also on the premises. The spa offers an exercise room with several different types of machines available. There are beauty treatments, massages, a hair and nail salon, steam room, and a cascading whirlpool. I got a massage at the spa and it was very relaxing. It is a nice thing to do after a long day of swimming at the beach and even more incentive to make sure you don't get a sun burn. I chose the Hot Stone Therapy Massage which cost $110 for a half hour. Lava stones were heated in water and placed on my back to release tension. Then, the stones were used to massage my body. The heat is a nice added feature.
