My latest purchase was Target's Storage Shelf with Bins. This product has made a huge difference in helping to keep my toddler's room clean. He loves the bright primary colors of the bins and since he likes it he is much more likely to use it. The product cost $60 but it was worth every penny since it gets my young boy to clean up his room.

The storage shelf has four tiers which are tilted forward at about a 30 degree angle so that you can easily see what in each bin. The set comes with 12 bins in red, yellow, blue, and green. There are four large bins - one in each color. There are two small bins - two in each color. I love the colors because I was able to organize my son's toys by putting a certain kind in a certain color. For example, I put all of his legos and building blocks in the yellow ones and all of his cars and trucks in the blue ones.

My son has learned the system in which his toys are arranged. He is able to see into each bin which he could not do with the old dresser we previously stored his toys in. When he wants to play with something, he goes over to the shelf and removes the bin with the toys that he wants to play with. This way, he knows exactly where to return those toys to.

I used the top shelf for all of his books. With it set up this way, I can read all the titles since they are tilted up but my son can still see them as well.

This system saves me a lot of time because it helped me teach my son to put his toys away on his own. He understands that I bought this shelf just for him and that it is his responsibility to use it. He likes doing it and is proud of himself.

The shelf was easy to assemble and I had it ready in about 20 minutes. It is sturdy and stands up to my son pulling on it while he is trying to retrieve a bin.

I am considering purchasing another one of these for my son's clothes. As he gets older, he is starting to be able to pick out his own clothes and with this product he would be able to see all of his clothes and decide what he wants to wear. I recommend this product to anyone who is looking to organize a child's room.
