As a committee member with the NamUs working group as part our the outreach. I ask that medical examiners out there use the www.NamUs.gov system to record their unidentified deceased on the UDRS database side of the system. It unidentified section is up and running and needs to be populated.
Some of the NamUs members are reaching out directly by phone right now, working to launch this system.
The missing persons side of NamUs is still very much in development.
In my other world as a member of various volunteer orgs like Doe Network, ColdCasesGroup.com etc and non profit groups like www.ProjectEDAN.us & www.OutpostForHope.org -- We will use the public face of the NamUs system in our work. Our work will be streamlined by the good clean data in the NamUs system. The UID information coming straight from the ME's & Coroners is excellent. I feel this is the most accurate way to export data to the public and to law enforcement across the globe. At last we all have the opportunity to be on the "same page".
I can with complete confidence as a team member of the NamUs development group, our government is committed to this project and the people it effects.
