Microsoft Windows Vista is a new operating system introduced by Microsoft. This new version of windows comes with a lot of new features and tweaks but only few of them have been highlighted. Let's find the hidden tweaks.

Have you ever tried to open a command prompt window? Do you know what a command prompt window is? Answer to this question will be 'Yes' or 'No' for some and 'what's that?' for others. Not all the users use command prompt window but those who use opens up the command prompt window in either of these 2 ways:

Way 1:

Click 'Start Menu' button or press 'Windows Key' on your keyboard to open the start menu. Click using mouse or use the top arrow key on your keyboard to move to 'Programs' and then click 'Accessories'. There you will find 'Command Prompt' button. Click the button to open up the "command prompt window".

Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt

Way 2:

The 1st way is a bit long to open up the command prompt window and takes a lot of time as compared to this method. This method is quite easy and fast and I prefer to use this way only as it takes less than 2 seconds of your precious time.

Click 'Start Menu' button or press 'Windows Key' on your keyboard to open the start menu. Use the top arrow key to move to 'Run' or use the mouse to click the 'Run' button. A small window will appear and there you have to enter "cmd" without quotes and press 'Enter Key' on your keyboard to to open up the command prompt window.

Besides these 2 ways to open up the "command prompt window" here is another method by which you can open the "command prompt window" anytime. This is the best method in case you have several windows opened up simultaneously. This is one of the most popular hacks earlier used in Windows XP but the same is now being applied in Windows Vista. This trick allows you to involuntarily open a command window in the directory that you had clicked on.

In order to activate this option, hold the 'SHIFT Key' and right click on any folder and you should notice "Open Command Window here" option in the menu. Click the button and a command prompt window will appear. You can open the command prompt window in the same way from any folder.
