Industrial kitchen makeovers are a fun and quick way to get that super popular hot kitchen trend on a small budget. These 3 ideas for industrial kitchen style makeovers on a budget will transform the look of your kitchen and each one costs less than $45.

Industrial Kitchen Makeovers #1: Faux Concrete Counters

Creating faux concrete counter tops is an easy project perfect for anyone with laminate kitchen counters. The first step is to lightly sand the surface of the kitchen counters. Wipe away any dust with a damp cloth, and then dry the counters.

Paint the counters out in an oil based primer and let this dry.

Now, take 3 colors of gray paint. You want this to be oil based paint. One should be a medium gray; one can white cream or white, and finally, a dark brownish gray. Use these three colors and a 4 inch paint brush.

Dip the paint brush in the medium color and paint out a 2 square foot area. Dip it into h lighter and darker paints and dab onto the medium paint on the counter. Create a concrete look by stippling the paint.

Once you have the look of gray concrete let this dry. You can seal this with three coats of oil based polyurethane.

Industrial Kitchen Makeovers #2: Faux Subway Tile Backsplash

To get started on this project you want to paint your backsplash out in a grout color. Let this dry for at lest 24 hours.

Now, use ¼ inch painter's tape and tape off the rows of tiles. This should look like bricks on the wall. Use a level and ruler to make sure the lines are straight and level. Evenly space them just like real subway tile.

Once all the tape has been applied you need to press it firmly to the wall. Now, paint on the color you want the backsplash faux tiles to be. Opt for retro silver colored paint. This will give the look of aluminum subways tiles for the backsplash!

One all paint is applied, and then you want to peel the tape off. Do this before the paint dries so the paint edges do not peel off.
