Senior citizens centers in Greater Lafayette area offer computer training, fitness programs, bingo, card games, tax assistance and may more fun and interesting activities.

HannaCommunity Center is located at 1201 N 18th Street in Lafayette. On weekdays, the center provides seniors with well balanced breakfast and lunch is served at noon. Those with special dietary restrictions are also accommodated, on advanced request.

Along with healthy meals, Hanna Community Center also has programs to help seniors stay mentally and physically active. Arts and crafts, field trips, card games, bingo, guest speakers, fitness programs are also offered.

Tippecanoe Council on Ageing runs a senior citizen center at the Columbian Park off Scott Street in Lafayette. It is called Jenks Rest.

The center operates Monday-Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm. On special occasions, they also offer evening and weekend programs. Regularly scheduled activities at the Jenks Rest senior citizen center include: YMCA exercises, computer training, bingo, art and craft, health screenings, tax assistance, continuing education, day trips, parties and line dancing.

Morton Community Center, located at 222 N. Chauncey, West Lafayette, regularly organized various programs for active senior citizens. Senior Fitness program is held on Tuesday and Thursday.

On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday there is senior aerobics fitness program. Seniors also have the option to practice yoga on Wednesday.

Morton Center also has recreation programs like bingo, golf, swimming for seniors. To participate you should be 55 or older and resident of Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, Warren and White counties.
