There are going to be five new inductees to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On Monday, March 10, Madonna, Leonard Cohen, John Mellencamp, The Dave Clark Five and The Ventures will become the newest members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Each year the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame chooses a handful of special artists that meet their qualifications to become members of the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.

I think all these artists are very deserving and here is how I would rank the newest inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

5. The Ventures- They are a instrumental rock band. While they might not be as well known as some of the inductees this year, they have contributed a lot to the surf music genre.

4. John Mellencamp- Whether you are calling him John Cougar, John Cougar Mellencamp, or his newest John Mellencamp, you are talking about a great artist. An artist that first started in 1977 is still very popular today, with his latest tour in 2007 being a big success.

3. Leonard Cohen- He got his start in 1977 as a folk singer-songwriter. He has released an album as recently as 2004. He is considered a very influential songwriter.

2. The Dave Clark Five- They were the center of a lot of controversy last year at the 2007 inductions. It has been rumored that they actually got six more votes then the 2007 inductee Grand Master Flash, but the Rock and Roll Hall of fame wanted a rap group to be part of that years inductions. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame denied these allegations. Whether this was true or not we might never know, but I think its great that The Dave Clark Five is getting their chance this year to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

1. Madonna- It is obvious to me that Madonna is the number one inductee into the Hall of Fame this year. She seems to be one of the most well known artists of all time. She has sold over 200 millions albums, and is loved by so many people from so many different generations. She seems such a obvious choice for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame it actually surprises me that she hasn't been inducted before now.
