When me and my husband got married I automatically wanted to start trying to get pregnant. I got off of my birth control, Depo Provera, the year before and never got pregnant, but I really wanted to try so I learned about ovulation and menstral cycles and all the thing you need to know to really try to concieve. My menstral cycle came every 2 to 3 months.

Which is terrible for when you are trying to conceive. I went to the doctor and she want to put me on birthcontrol to see if it would straight them out to once a month. I told her no because I looked at it like another delay. Well a year later I still wasn't pregnant and was scared that there was something really wrong. So I went to another doctor and told him that I wanted to get tested for all the problems of having a child. He said ok and we did all the blood test and ultrasounds and come to find out my ovaries were not ovulating right due to ovarian cyst. Which may have been caused buy the Depo Provera. He said that when you are on the Depo you do not have a period because of horomones that make your ovaries stop ovulating and that you are just going to have to wait or take birthcontrol for 2 to 3 months to see what happens. So I got on the patch and I went on woundering if I was ever going to get pregnant. I was staying depressed all the time.

Takeaways
  • Getting pregnant maybe harder than it looks
  • Depo Provera may be the reason you are not getting pregnant
  • See a doctor if you have concerns how long it is taking for you

i would say to the person who is having sex 2x a day, it is possible your husband is shooting blanks. If he smokes and also eats cold food it could contribute to low sperm production. Maybe he needs to get tested.

Hi Sandra and hello to everyone. Im stasha and Im 20yrs old. I got married to my longterm boyfriend last year and we had been trying to have a baby but with no success. Its been almost ten months now and im starting to worry. Im a healthy girl and my menses comes every month. What could be the problem? :( Let me share with you something thats been bothering me cause i think these factors might just be the reason for the delay... Or are they not. So please help me cause im so unsure and really am upset. Reason 1= my husband smokes, but the only time he smokes near me is when we'r in the car. 2= my husband and i have sex daily... Usually minimum twice daily and he blows in. Would too many sperm be the cause?
