Hair Care Recipes

During my experimental phase, I came across several homemade hair care product recipes. These are commonly used in the natural hair community. I would definitely encourage you reference the recipes and inquire about their results from
others. This article will list some recipes and my personal review of the recipes results.

Hair Product Recipes

Whipped Shea Butter

1 part Shea Butter
1 part Conditioner
1/2 part Oil
A few drops of essential oils that compliment your hair type and scent preference

Soften shea butter (a few seconds in the microwave)

Mix all ingredients together well.

Place in a sealed container

I love this recipe. This recipe is good as a moisturizer. I purchased my 100% African shea butter from my local African shop. To find your local African shop you can do a google search; try your downtown or urban areas. I used a biotin conditioner or no conditioner at all. It really depends on the consistency you would like or that your hair best responds too. For the oil, I would recommend using jojoba, almond or coconut oil. This can be found at your local beauty supply store, health food store or pharmacy.

ACV rinse

2 Tbs. apple cider vinegar
1 Qt/L of distilled H20

This is very good for your hair. It prepares your hair to receive all the nutrients from your conditioner or homemade recipe.

Coconut Milk Soak

Apply as much coconut milk (canned) to your dry hair

Make sure to work it in really well.

Place a shower cap (or plastic bag) or towel.

Sit under a hair dryer for 10 €" 30 minutes

Shampoo out with a gentle shampoo and condition

LOVE THIS€Your hair will smell good and feel GREAT! Please be sure the coconut milk is not expired. Yes, this product will go bad and trust me you will know it's bad.
