Bishop Thomas Weeks III Pleads Guilty to Assaulting Prophetess Juanita Bynum

Remember when Bishop Thomas Weeks III got on BET and convinced a few of us that the "assault charges" filed against him by his estranged wife Prophetess Juanita Bynum weren't true? Well, he evidently changed his mind. Why? Because on Tuesday, March 11, according to "Sign On San Diego", he pled guilty in a Fulton County courtroom.

THE EVENT

Unless you were living under a rock, you probably heard last Summer how Bishop Weeks III kicked and stomped his wife Prophetess Juanita Bynum in a hotel parking lot. It left bruises all over her body that he later denied giving to her. He even went so far as to say she was the one who assaulted him.

THE SENTENCE

After pleading guilty to a single count of aggravated assault, Weeks was given 200 hours of community service and violence and anger counseling. It is a sentence that will be interesting to see him carry out since the community service must be non-church related. However, there is more . . .

The restriction that barred him from communicating with Juanita Bynum is now lifted.

THE APOLOGY

During his courtroom visit, Bishop Weeks III did something very surprising. What was it? Apologize to his wife for the very first time. There were no "add-ons", "qualifications" or other "stuff" that were used in the past to twist what happened during their parking lot altercation. It was just a straight forward apology.

THE RECONCILIATION

About a month ago, I got word of the news that Bishop Weeks III and Prophetess Bynum were reconciling with each other. Because the source was shaky, I didn't want to write about it. However, based on the statement made by Weeks attorney and the fact that they left the courtroom together, I think it might be true. It looks as though they are patching things up and may be doing their "Teach Me How to Love" conferences together again in the "near" or "very far" future. It'll surely make for a great testimony and preaching to the masses.
