American Idol Top Twelve Perform Beatles Songs

Tonight was the first performance of the top twelve on American Idol. I enjoyed the show very much. It is a great way to relax.

The show started off with Syesha Mercado. She sang "Got to Get You Into My Life." I am not moved by her.

Chikezie sang "She's a Woman" and the judges thought he was terrific. So did I!

Ramiele Malubay sang "In My Life". She is cute but doesn't move me either.

Jason Castro sang "If I Feel." I think he was okay tonight but not as good as last week.

Carly Smithson sang "Come Together" and I think she is impressive. Paula Abdul said, "I felt like I was watching a star."

Amanda Overmyer sang, "You Can't Do That." I liked her tonight but, I am waiting to see her sing something that is a ballad.

Davd Cook sang, "Eleanor Rigby" and I liked him a lot.

Brooke White played the piano and sang, "Let It Be". Simon thought it was one of the best performances of the night. She seemed really overwhelmed to be there.

David Hernandez sang, " Saw Her Standing There" I have enjoyed him previously, but just wasn't impressed tonight.

Michael Johns sang, "Across the Universe". I enjoyed his performance and think he is very good.

Kristy Lee Cook sang, "Eight Days a Week" in a country style. I absolutely hated the arrangement.

David Arculeta sang, "We Can Work it Out". He forgot his words. I think he has a great voice, but his youth might get in his way.

My three best picks for tonight would be David Cook, Chikezie, and Carly Smithson. I think this is going to be a tough year to pick the best one as there are some great voices in this group.
