I'm sure there has been at least one time in your life where you've had company over only to run out of ideas of entertainment. Then you have to deal with the awkward atmosphere of silence where everyone is stuck twiddling their thumbs. There are many very inexpensive and fun ways to spice things up. I advise card tricks to anyone of any skill level. They come in a variety of skill level and the materials (a deck of playing cards) are extremely to come by! Most dollar stores will carry card decks if you do not already own one. I'm going to share some of my all time favorite card tricks that all ages can enjoy to watch. These are also quite easy to learn. Please take note that the names of these tricks may not be accurate. Many of them are titled by my own personal names for them.

Flipped

This is a very simplistic card trick. There must be some sort of design to the backs of your cards or this trick won't work. You will take a deck of cards and chose a member of the audience. You will then "fan out" the cards with the faces of the card outward towards the chosen person - the backs of the cards will be facing you.

Next you will have the person pull the card from your hand WITHOUT showing it to you.

While the person has the card, you need to stack the deck into your hand. (By "stack" I mean to have the deck in your hand as it was when you first removed it from the box it came in.)You then will take the card from this person and, (while still facing where you cannot see what it is) shove it back into the deck. However - when you place it back into the deck you will turn it the opposite direction of the other cards.

This way, the design on the back of your cards will all be facing one way, and the newly added card will be facing the reverse so you can see exactly where it is at all times. (This is why I mention above that you must have a deck with designs on the back)..The best ones are inconspicuous designs as to not draw attention to your trick.
