Atrocities that Must Be Dealt With

Are there injustices and other events in the world that annoy you? Do you have issues you can propose a solution for? There are many things that bother me; furthermore, there are issues I have a solution for.

Violence against women is one issue that annoys me. Although the act of violence toward anyone is bad, I am more bothered by violence toward women. There is a prevalence of violence toward women. 

Women are a bigger target for violence than men because they are physically weaker than men. Many women are raped or sexually assaulted by strangers. Some women are physically or emotionally beaten by their husbands or boyfriends. Men who physically harm women should receive prison sentences. The severity of the sentence should be determined by the amount of harm the battered woman suffers.

I have a beef with the tax system. The tax code is too long and complicated. Some people who earn a decent amount of money are dealt an onerous tax rate. Many people who commit tax evasion are sent to prison for at least a few years. My solution is to eliminate or streamline the federal tax code, institute a flat tax that takes ten percent of the money that is earned by everyone who has an income that greatly exceeds the poverty level and make tax evasion a misdemeanor that carries a penalty of up to one year in jail.

I hate the racial disparity that exists. Black and Hispanic people do not have opportunities equal to those provided to people of other races. The income earned by black people and Hispanics is much less than the income earned by others. Furthermore, black people and Hispanics endure higher unemployment rates and stiffer prison sentences than others. We must work together to eliminate these problems.

I hate the racial profiling that exists. It is ludicrous that black people are subjected to being pulled over and searched for contraband far more often than people of other races, especially considering that we only make up about ten percent of the population. Police departments should require their officers to record every stop and keep a close eye on these statistics.
