In my search for an air purifier that was an appropriate size and price for my college apartment, I stumbled upon the Blueair AirPod to do the job I needed. The AirPod can be purchased for about $100. The filter is not housed in a case so there is nothing around it to act as a barrier. It is small enough to put anywhere since the docking station is only 6.3 square inches. I like the way mine looks so much that I was even willing to put it on the end table in my living room.

There is a 12V DC fan inside the docking station that is very quiet. It can barely be heard so it doesn't disturb me when I am trying to watch TV or anything. An ionizer and power station are also housed inside the docking station.

This product can clean the air in your home at a rate of 45 cubic feet per minute. Since it is so portable, you can put move it around with you to stay in your "Personal Clean AirZone" at all times. I bring it into my bedroom at night and place it on my nightstand so I can breathe clear air while I sleep. With the filter attached, the product is 13 inches tall and weighs 1.7 pounds.

The AirPod uses about 85% less energy than other air filters so it will be good for your energy bills as well. The HEPASilent filter can capture six times more dirt than filters in other air purifiers. Particles down to 0.1 micron in size can be captured and removed. This is achieved because the ion brush charges the air with negative ions to make particles cling more easily to the filter.

I recommend this filter to anyone who is looking to filter a small amount of air. It would fit well in a small apartment or on your desk at work. It is great for people with allergies and asthma as it filters the bad particles out of the air so that they do not go into your body. Keep in mind that you will need to purchase a new filter every four months. Filters cost $40 for two. I often place mine in the kitchen while I am cooking foods that have an odor so that the smell will not spread to the rest of the apartment. I am pleased with this product as it does what I expected it to for the price.
