Product Review: Fisher-Price Aquarium Bath Seat

The Fisher-Price Aquarium Bath Seat is a convenient place to give your baby a bath. This product sits in your kitchen sink so that you can stand up comfortably while trying to bathe them. There is a padded area where the baby can lay down while you wash them off. This method works much better than trying to fill the tub with a little bit of water and hold them up while you wash. This is a handy product to have around and it only costs $30.

I really like the hammock feature of this product. It works well for newborns because they are fully supported. This leaves you with two free hands to wash them with. I feel that my baby is very secure when she is in the hammock. There are no worries about her rolling out because it dips down deep enough. I especially like that I am able to give the baby a bath on my own when no one is around to help me. This really helps me move through my chores for the day because I do not have to wait around for anyone else. There are some bath toys on a ring that keep the baby occupied while they are getting their bath. This is nice because you do not have to go searching for anything.

When your baby outgrows the hammock stage and can sit up on their own, the hammock can be removed and the baby can sit on a ledge in the tub. However, the water cannot go up far enough to fully cover the baby when in this position so they get really cold really fast. You will need to continually spray warm water to keep them warm. Another thing that would be great here is a seatbelt because my baby likes to wiggle her way off the seat.

There is another area for when the baby gets older to sit in the water to splash around. I do not really like this part because it is not big enough for them to fit comfortably. I probably will not use it when my baby gets to this stage.

Overall, I would suggest that you go with a different product that allows the baby to be in the water during the bath. Imagine yourself sitting in your kitchen sink all wet and cold. I feel like I need to rush through the bath each time because my baby is cold and I would prefer to allow her to relax and play in the water.
