Super Smash Brothers Brawl: How to Unlock Sonic the Hedgehog

Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii Entertainment System is everything a gamer hoped it would be and more! With a ton of playable characters and un-lockable features this may be one of the greatest games of all time, but if you own Super Smash Brothers Brawl I know you'll be asking one question, "How do I unlock all the characters?" Well accomplishing specific tasks will allow you to unlock many of the characters but here is how to score the ultimate un-lockable character, Sonic the Hedgehog!

Sonic is the speedy blue hedgehog from the series of the same name and makes his debut in the Super Smash Brothers series with the Brawl installment. Sonic is one of the two characters developed by a third party, Sega in this case, that was included in Brawl. Sonic is one of the harder characters to unlock just because it takes so much time, but here's how it's done.

When you start Super Smash Brothers Brawl select the solo gameplay and then head to the Subspace Emissary. This is Super Smash Brothers "adventure" or storyline based method of play. In the Subspace Emissary missions you are thrust into a world occupied by all the characters featured in Super Smash Brothers Brawl. The game starts with you choosing to be Kirby or Mario in a friendly match as Princess Zelda and Peach watch over the event. After the fight things take a turn for the worse as a mysterious force begins to invade the land.

This force is lead by a character known as Tabuu, and he will be the one you face off against at the end of the Subspace Emissary missions. As you progress through the missions here you'll gain characters to help you fight in a final bout with Tabuu, and the last character you'll add to your party will be none other then Sonic the Hedgehog, however in order to unlock Sonic for Brawling you'll have to defeat Tabuu which may prove a bit difficult.

Going into the fight with Tabuu make sure that all your characters have sticker upgrades that will reduce the amount of damage they take when being beaten around by Tabuu. Also make sure at least two characters have stickers focused on attacking, like slash damage upgrades for characters with swords.
