While researching another article for Associated Content, I came across a witty quote from billionaire oil company founder J. Paul Getty. The quote was "If you can actually count your money then you are not really a rich man." I found that one quote so humorous and thought provoking that I started digging around for other clever money quotes.

A great source for celebrity quotes is the money and finance section on AOL. There was a celebrity quote section on the site. Linda Evangelista, speaking on behalf of supermodels, once said "We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day." Marilyn Monroe sadly quipped, "Hollywood is a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul." Do you remember Dolly Parton, the famously endowed country singer and actress? She told us "It costs a lot to look this cheap."

I found some other engaging quotes on the website called Brainyquote.com. How many times have you said "Time is money."? That quote came from Ben Franklin. A lesser known money quote from him is "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." Another good one from Ben: "Wealth is not his that has it, but his that enjoys it."

Charles Farrar Browne (1834 - 1867), better known as Artemus Ward, was once the editor of Vanity Fair magazine. He had a great sense of humor and once said "Let us all be happy, and live within our means, even if we have to borrow the money to do it with." Worldofquotes.com claims that an anonymous IRS auditor said about our hard earned income: "the trick is to stop thinking if it as 'your' money."

Donald Trump has some insightful and intelligent views about money. He once told us, "Sometimes your best investments are the ones you don't make." Another good one from Trump is: "Money was never a big motivation for me, except as a way to keep score. The real excitement is playing the game."

Ralph Waldo Emerson cracked, "Money often costs too much."
