I like to use a variety of red and Yukon gold potatoes for my baked potatoes, jojos, mashed potatoes and any other potato dishes that I might make. I normally can find red potatoes for 99 cents a pound but some times there are not that many to choose from. I have yet to find an organic bulk brand of red potatoes but I did find one for Yukon gold potatoes. At about a dollar and 10 cents a pound I can get a five pound bag of organic Yukon gold potatoes by Alden Farms.

The Alden Farms Organic Yukon Gold Potatoes that I buy I find in the organic food section of Safeway. I have been getting them for some time now and I have always had very good luck with the condition of the potatoes bag after bag. We tend to use a lot of potatoes and so we go through the bag in a little over a week, some times quicker if that particular week we have more than usual potato dishes. I have not found any of the potatoes going bad before we can eat them up. The organic Yukon potatoes always seem to come in good condition with either no or very little dents.

Alden Farms Organic Yukon Gold Potatoes are very tasty and I think that they work great in all of the different potato dishes that I prepare. In addition to being organic they are also grown in Washington state, the state that I live in, so I know that they do not have that far to travel. Also something that you don't always see on organic bulk bags of vegetables, and fruit for that matter, the nutrition facts but these organic Yukon potatoes include theirs on the back of the bag.

The only thing that comes to mind about these potatoes is that they tend to be a bit more dirty than the individual red potatoes that I buy. This however could be that the dirt shows up less on the red potatoes, or maybe they are quickly washed before displayed. I don't mind at all though because I am happy to wash off some organic dirt. It isn't hard to clean the potatoes either.

I would recommend these potatoes to anyone who wanted to get Yukon gold potatoes in bulk and wanted to get them organic. I know that I will continue to keep getting The Alden Farms Organic Yukon Gold Potatoes five pound bags.
