Do we really know who all six of the Oceanic 6 are on ABC"s Lost? Sort of. I had my theories back in January, and I still believe that five out of six of those are correct; Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid and Sun. That leaves just one more for Season 4. I am not convinced that Aaron is one of them. In fact, if the producers let Aaron be one of the O6 then I will attribute it to pre-strike anger by the writers. Here is why Aaron should not be considered one of the six.

ABC Lost Producers on Aaron

The ABC Lost producers want us to debate about Aaron. They want the audience to be confused. Maybe they just aren't sure yet and are waiting to hear the best fan theories.

In a TV Guide interview they were asked about baby Aaron on Lost:

"Is Aaron actually one of the Oceanic 6?"

Cuse:
"We're not officially saying yet. We want the audience to engage in an active debate about who the Oceanic 6 are."

Lindelof: "Following [Sayid's] episode, we got several inquiries we weren't anticipating about, 'Is Ben a member of the Oceanic 6?' He could have assumed the identity of somebody on the plane [with] no surviving family members. Who the actual six are is very much in play through the end of the [March 13th] episode. We'll confirm or deny after that. (TVGuide.com)

There was nothing in the Lost March 13, 2008 episode to actually confirm Aaron is one of the O6. Nobody ever said only those six would get off the island. The Oceanic Six are simple the ones who have become famous.

Why Aaron Should Not Be an O6

There are a number of reasons why this baby cannot be one of the Oceanic Six on Lost. The main one being that the Lost producers have said all of the Oceanic 6 are on the manifest. Of course, they also said we would know who the Oceanic 6 are the end of last night's episode.

1. There were 8 survivors.

According to Jack's courtroom testimony, albeit his false courtroom testimony, at Kate's trial in Eggtown he said there were eight survivors. Yet, the media on Lost, and Hurley refer to the Oceanic 6. This means there are the Oceanic Six, plus two more survivors. Aaron could be one of the eight but he is not one of the six. At least Aaron is not one of the official six O6 on Lost.

(dang i had more lol didn realize there was a character restriction) would he explain himself after they discover that he's been back for 2 months already. No i belive that Michael dies on the freighter. Cant figure out what happens to Desmond, but would hate to lose such a great character. He and Penny deserve to be together after all this time. just my thoughts.

I Agree that it is Probally Jin as the final member of the Six. Jack, Kate, Hugo, Sun, Sayid, and Jin. Aaron is technically a survivor, but in the way that we figure age in our society, he would have had to been born on the plane before it crashed. And it would have been notated on manifest as Claire +1. The idea that Kate's Aaron is not Claires is imo erroneous. Yes, Kate could have been pregnant and had her baby later, but why then go and Name him Aaron, the same as Claires. Also Desmond told Charlie that he saw Claire and Aaron get into a chopper and leave the island. And No Ben would not try and blend in as one of the Six, not his style. He doesnt want the attention, would rather manipulate from the shadows. If he was one of the six then his face would be known and recognized all over, and Whitmore would have no trouble finding him. Wouldnt have to try and go thru Sayid. Michael would not claim it either. If her couldnt stand the guilt after telling his own son then how

The preview for upcoming episodes implies that Aaron is one, which is just wrong.

I think it is Claire's Aaron. I do not think he is one of the six. I think Claire gave him to Kate to take off the island so he stood a chance of having a life. I think Jack cannot go and see him for the guilt of leaving his half sister on the island. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out.

I like that the fact Lost has guessing who the six are even though it has been mentioned that Aaron is one of the 6. I have reasons why he could be or not. For Jack, he could be upset because he found out Claire was his sister and she died somehow however he could also be upset because it is Sawyers'. Nice work on this article, and I have to say when i saw Michael I was extremely excited lol, about time LOST! :) Now i cant wait to see WALLLTT!!

I was keeping up with no problem because I was watching every week since it started. I feel bad for people who just start watching it after never having seen it before. Last weeks episode confused the hell out of me, I can't imagine how confused they would be. Great article!

Believe it or not, I've never watched this show, and after reading your article, I doubt that I would be able to keep up with it if I did. I think I would be truly lost.
