Will you help me kill
the devil tonight -
again?
Give me back the beauty
let's steal it from the beast.
Kiss my lips like rain
and send him back to hell.
My every gasp of pleasure
is air stolen from his lungs.
Touch my trembling body
and hear him scream aloud.
Every moan of ecstasy
falling from my lips
is a nail in his coffin.
Whisper words of love
and hold me as he dies.

I get from the intro and the "again" question that this is an ongoing process. There are some things that simply never stay buried until you are ready to forgive...and even then, forgiving is not forgetting.

By asking "Will you help me kill the devil tonight - again?" at the beginning, I was trying to imply that it's an ongoing process, that "the devil" has to be killed over and over because it keeps coming back to life. Unfortunately, you can't easily edit postings once they are published on AC. There are a few of mine I'd love to be able to tweak.

Powerful, but brief. I think is ceases just as the reclamation is climaxing. I think it could be more empowering if the act was more drawn out. After such a horrific experience, the brevity suggests an ease to overcome.
