Winter is coming and it is already snowing in some parts of the United States of America. There is nothing like the first snowfall, but there is also nothing like gliding down a steep mountain side with only two sticks to navigate you and a banana peel underneath your feet or speeding up the mountain underneath a high powered engine and feeling the wind slap you in the face, while winding in and out of trees. Can't wait for snow in your area? Check out the resort towns of Colorado, they have excellent options from the beginner to the advanced. They even have rentals and time-shares for those of you ski bums who can't leave the snow until the last flake has melted.

POWDER HORN RESORT
At a base elevation of 8200 ft. and a vertical drop of 1650 ft., Powder Horn Resort resides in the Rocky Mountains of scenic western Colorado and is situated on the edge of the world's largest flat top mountain, the Grand Mesa. The resort boasts two terrain parks, located midpoint up the mountain with numerous rails, a fun box, hits, tabletops, and areas for clinics. There is also 360,000 acres of powder atop the Grand Mesa just waiting for adventurous snowmobile freaks to go ape shiite.
Powder Horn offers varied packages ranging from family instruction to private lessons. Clinics being taught for women by women are hugely popular at this ski destination. The convenient children's learning center offers group or private lessons.
Powder Horn Resort is 35 miles east of Grand Junction, and an easy 40 minute drive via 1-70 then east to exit 49 and then south on Colorado highway 65. The ski resort is 20 miles from the Grand Mesa scenic byway.
For more information about Powder Horn resort or to book a stay, you can easily reach them via phone (970) 268-5700 or online at www.ski@powderhorn.com.

Sounds great. Colorado is definitely on my must-visit list, though I haven't been there yet. All the pictures I've seen look so lovely though!
