There are times you do not want to go to a regular restaurant, not even your favorite one. You are pressed for time and cannot wait for a meal to be cooked or you are just in the mood for something light like a sandwich stuffed full of all your favorite things. You thing you will discover is that a New York sandwich is not like the sandwich you would get somewhere else. Some of them are like a meal between two slices of bread.

The prices for the most part are very reasonable and in most cases you can get a sandwich and a drink for around $10. Oh course, they have more than sandwiches, but that is what they are famous for, or it is there speciality. You will give up the ambiance of fancier restaurants, but that is not what you are looking for here. The prices are in effect at the time this is written. They are subject to change, so check with the restaurant if you want to be sure. I have included listings from as many different neighborhoods as possible. They all have a web site with menus, so you can get a sneak peak. Look in the restaurant's window. Many of them have the menu posted there. Drinks are not included. There are just too many choices. Don't forget you have to figure the tip and the 8 1/4% New York City sales tax into the total.
