Plantronics T10 Landline Corded Phone Headset: Review

Finding a corded phone headset in a local store has become a challenge since the cordless phone headsets have become more popular. Not to mention that in general, most people don't use headsets with landline phones. Since cordless phones have a battery that runs down rather quickly, a corded phone headset is the better choice for a landline phone. But since buying one online is usually the only option, you need to make the right choice on the first purchase to prevent costly returns. But with companies like Plantronics making so many different headsets, how do you know which to buy?

There are two types of corded phone headsets, the type that plugs directly into the phone and those that plug into an amplifier and then the amplifier plugs into the phone. The problem with the former is that there usually isn't a volume control, which makes it not a good product. And the problem with the second is that they are usually very expensive.

There is a third choice out there though. The Plantronics T10 Headset Telephone has both the keypad for the phone and the headset. Since the keypad and headset were made to go together, there isn't an issue of combining two products that weren't meant to be together.

This product also has volume control. It's the perfect corded phone headset. And the Plantronics T10 headset can be used for over the head or over the ear use. I haven't tried using it over the ear, but unlike most headsets that make your ears hurt, this one is comfortable. And since it only covers one ear, you can be more alert as to what is going on around you.

One of my favorite features on this phone is that it is lighted when in use. The big mute button with its red light when it is on makes it almost impossible to forget that the phone is muted. The phone also has redial and flash.

The price of the Plantronics T10 is another reason why it's the best corded phone headset. It retails for around $60 on many websites including newegg.com. This is approximately half the price of what a headset with the amplifier costs. It is an amazing deal.
