Forgive my indulgence in religion. I first heard this verse at a time when I was feeling that my husband did not appreciate all that I did. I had done the stay at home thing. I had done the full time work with kids in daycare thing. I had done the part time thing, and at that time, I had returned to being home full time again. Somehow, I turned to one of those religious shows on the TV, and the words I heard brought me to my spiritual knees, and plainly laid out my course in life. Here is the guide I now use to bring value to my home, and now I feel greatly appreciated.
An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
Since I found my true value in our home, I am happier with me, and when momma is happy…
The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
I am his confidant, the person who he bounces ideas, and tells his problems to. I never betray or ridicule him. I control my jest as well.
She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.
I take pride in feeding my family the best foods and will travel extra miles as needed to bring them the best. I have tapped into my inner crafter, make original items for our home, and often sell them too.
She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.
While I do not have any maidens, I take pride in rising early and starting my family off with a nutritious breakfast. This scripture also convinced my husband and me that getting a housekeeper was not such a bad idea. It did free me up to do many other things done that are a much better use for my time.
She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
I have invested our money in rental properties, and I see to the needs of the homes and the tenants. That is fruitful, right.
She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.
Confidence breeds inner strength, which I have found my husband is very attracted to.
