Celebrating your wedding anniversary every year is very important in any marriage. Regardless of how long you have been married, celebrating your anniversary is like celebrating all of the trials and tribulations that you have over come in that year. I always like to say that marriage is always a work in progress. Here are some romantic ideas to really get in touch with the memories that you have with your spouse.

Relive your firsts

One of the most memorable occurrences in your relationships is going to be your firsts. Your first kiss, first time making love, or your first hotel stay. These are all very special even if they did not happen when you were married and will always remain a part of your relationship history. Relive your entire first by recreating those moments all in one night. Go to the place that you had your first kiss and relive it or go to the restaurant that you proposed at. Showing that you remember those special memories will mean a lot. For example, my husband and I always go back to the Kmart aisle where he sprung our first kiss on me. We met while we both worked at Kmart as teens so it holds a special place in our heart.

Do something different

Another unique idea to celebrate your wedding anniversary is to do something that you have never done before together or conquer something that you are both afraid of. It can be something as big as like a sky dive or hot air balloon ride or something as small as riding a roller coaster. Doing these activities is a great way to feel close to your spouse and maybe see them in a different light and what better day to do that on than your anniversary.

Low cost ideas

With gas and grocery items on the rise, many families have to stretch their income even farther. You can still celebrate your wedding anniversary without a lot of cost. You can write a letter to your spouse and tell them all of the things that you love and appreciate about them. This is also a great way for those that have a hard time verbalizing their feelings. You can cook a special meal together and then eat it by candlelight.
