The Canon 28-135mm USM IS Lens: Great Lens for Almost Every Situation

Canon remains one of the premier camera and lens manufacturers in the world. The quality of their SLR camera's and lenses are unsurpassed. Not only do Canon products take fantastic pictures, Canon's photography equipment is built with quality and precision. That's the attitude I had when I bought the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Image Stabilized Auto Focus Wide Angle Telephoto Zoom Lens. I had a choice between a wider range Sigma or Tamron, but I opted for the Canon lens after hearing numerous praises for Canon products. Having just received my Canon Rebel XT body frame, I needed a decent lens to go along with it.
After a difficult, mind boggling search, I finally found the EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 image stabilized lens. The zoom fell into the range I needed, wide angle to moderate zoom, the user reviews were between 4 and 5 stars, and best of all, it was the cheapest out of all my potential options.
I'm happy with this little lens. There is so much praise to give this camera lens. Allow me to point out the numerous features and relatively few drawbacks to the Canon masterpiece.
The Good
*The zoom range and picture quality
The more a camera can zoom, the less quality your pictures have at the extreme ends. This means a photographer doesn't want a camera that zooms over too wide a range. As an avid photographer, I have found the Canon EF 28-135mm image stabilized lens falls into a versatile enough range for street picture taking while still maintaining excellent picture quality. Perfect for traveling. It can get a wide angle shot and still zoom in reasonably close to fulfill most photographic needs. The picture quality is fantastic, too. I have been able to get shots as low as 1/15 of a second without any noticeable camera movement.
*Its all about the image stabilization
