If you are having a down day read this little story of God's love for one person. The story has two short parts and it starts on a Saturday.

My parents and I were having a discussion about the oil situation and how the prices keep rising. I said that since most OPEC countries have desert lands then perhaps we are selling them food, and if we are, then we should charge them accordingly for food as they are charging us for fuel.

The very next day was a bright, sunshiny Sunday, so I went to church. After the service I went alone to a Chinese restaurant; I am single and I'm not considered to be the coolest person in the church so I seldom get invited anywhere by the other members of the church.

As I was sitting in my solitary booth eating, a whole group of church people burst into the restaurant, and one of the members of the group asked me to join them. But I declined because I had already made my table dirty so I didn't think the waiter would appreciate it if I moved, and besides, I was in a hurry.

When I arose to leave a few minutes later, I noticed that the Sheriff of Halifax County was also in the restaurant eating with his wife and four children. So I approached him to greet him. I told him that he needs to arrest someone because these gas prices are highway robbery. His response was to say that we ought to raise the prices on the food that we sell to OPEC nations.

I thought, what are the chances that the Sheriff of Halifax County would be in the same establishment as me and having the same simultaneous thoughts as me? I began to see that God knows where I am and what I am thinking. He is acutely aware of me. He knows me. What love! What grace! He has a whole universe to uphold, and though I'm no bigger than a molecule in comparison, He has truly counted the hairs on my head. He was with me all the time that I was seemingly alone.

What a touching story. Miracles are everywhere if we just make ourselves aware.

I thought it was God's providence that after publishing my first article today, yours was the next one in this category! How He knows us! And always seems to know just what we need to affirm His watchful care over us. Your book has motivated me to get started. Thank you for letting God use you to encourage me. I just loved this story of how God made Himself known to you, too.
