These turkey cupcakes are easy to make and fun for the whole family. The ingredients are simple and you don’t have t be an artist to turn you simple cupcakes into a realistic looking turkey.

To Make Turkey Cupcakes You Will Need:

1 Box of your favorite cake mix
Chocolate Icing
Cup Cake wrappers
12 Nutter Butter Cookies
Tube Icing (Red, White, Black)
Airhead Candy (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow)

Let the kids help you with this fun project. They will have a blast turning these simple cupcakes into a thanksgiving inspired treat.

Follow the direction on your cake mix as normal. Bake them in a cupcake tin according to the package directions. I recommend using the little paper cupcake holders, but that is optional.

Once the cupcakes have cooled apply the chocolate icing.

Insert a Nutter Butter cookie in the front of the cup cake. This will be the turkey head. I like to insert mine about 1/3 of the way into the cupcake. You could go as far as ½ of the ay in though.

Have the kids open up a bunch of Airhead candy. Use clean scissors to cut out strips of the taffy like candy. Let the kids use tooth picks to make the edges of the candy look like feathers.

Insert the candy at the back of the turkey cup cake body. Use a variety of taffy colors for the tail feathers.

Use what icing to pipe on two eyes on the turkey cookie face. To black dots of icing will work for the pupils. You can add red for the skin above and below the turkey head.

Now that was a simple and easy Turkey cupcake!

You can make a turkey inspired Thanksgiving cake for a larger group of family.

Follow the instructions for the turkey cupcakes as before.

Bake another cake in a 13” by 9” sheet pan. Let the cake cook. Turn it out on to a large platter. If you do not have a big enough platter use a large wood cutting board. You could also cover a large piece of sturdy cardboard with aluminum foil for the platter.

Use a can of pre made chocolate icing to cove the cake.

Ground Oreo cookies can be sprinkled on top for a dirt effect. Place you turkey cupcakes randomly on top of the cake. Use green icing in a tube to make grass around the front of the turkey cupcakes.
