Lately my days have been very harried. I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but I haven't done a lot of cooking in the last few weeks. In order to slow down the frequent trips through a drive-thru window, I started searching for alternative meal options.I needed something that was fast to make and inexpensive. It also could not be too unhealthy, and should tast at least decent. I wasn't in search of a gourmet holy grail, not even close.
I was getting a bit frustrated as I wandered through the grocery store aisles. Then I headed for the freezer section. I figured surely I would find something to eat there. This is how I found Freezer Queen frozen dinner entrees.
I had never tried Freezer Queen entrees, but the photos on the boxes looked good. (Will I ever learn?) There are several Freezer Queen entrees to choose. Freezer Queen boasts sliced turkey, broiled beef patties, chicken nuggets, Salisbury steak, meatloaf, boneless pork ribs, lasagna with meat sauce, turkey and dressing, king size beef patties, noodles with beef, and gravy and sliced beef.
Besides frozen entrees, Freezer Queen also produces frozen side dishes such as mashed potatoes, pasta and broccoli in cheese sauce, broccoli in cheese sauce, and macaroni and cheese.
The family entrees by Freezer Queen range in size from 10.5 ounces for the chicken nuggets to 28 ounces for some of the Freezer Queen entrees. Most of the frozen entrees fall into the higher range.
Freezer Queen also has a line of frozen food called Meat 'N Potatoes. This is simply a main entree and mashed potatoes in one box that is heated at the same time together. The frozen entrees by Freezer Queen available in this handy combination are Salisbury steak, sliced turkey, meatloaf, and pork rib patties.
My reasoning was that Freezer Queen entrees were definitely fast. They can be heated in the microwave in less than minutes. Or warm them up the traditional way in an oven for minutes.
Cost was also very inexpensive. I could buy two Freezer Queen entrees for less than the cost of one fast food meal. Each Freezer Queen entree is supposed to be enough for servings.
