Ashley Alexandra Dupre Offered $1 Million for Girls Gone Wild

Until She was Found in the Archives

Ashley Alexandra Dupre, recently catapulted to a certain infamy by former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's indiscretion, was offered $1 million to appear nude for the Girls Gone Wild series in a photo spread and a bus tour. Oddly enough, the creator of Girls Gone Wild yanked the offer off the table when he realized something - the company already has footage of Dupre from 2003, when she was celebrating her 18 birthday with friends in Florida and spent a week on the Girls Gone Wild bus.

A bit of advice for anyone considering following in her footsteps:

1) The pay for this sort of thing is typically high. But how would your parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, extended family, and employers feel about it? Video footage doesn't go away, and once you make it you don't own it. The company can use the images and videos in magazines and commercials, and people you know might see it. If that doesn't bother you then maybe you're not being considerate to their feelings, or worried about your employment.

2) Think about why you're willing to do this. Being paid to appear nude and participating in sexual acts on film may be legal, but it's still a form of prostitution. You are selling your body, and people will look at it, lust after it, and never even know your name.

3) Exploitation. The founder of girls gone wild was sued for sexually exploiting children. And if you think the under-18 crowd is the only crowd getting exploited in the videos, you're wrong.

4) If you're in any position to become a role model, think about that. Teenage girls are highly influenced by celebrities, and even if you're only an up and coming or aspiring actress, what message are you giving those who look up to you? That the only way you want to be known is by having a great body, and that you're willing to do anything in front of a camera? With the antics of Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, and other starlets, I think teenage girls are getting plenty of that already.
