Many people who wear dental retainers have probably had the misery of trying to keep them clean. Retainer wearers are supposed to remove them for every meal and brush them every night so that food particles and bacteria does not grow against your teeth and in your gums while you sleep with them on. Even after brushing off the large particles, cleaning the unseen germs is a big hassle. Because of that, people have been in search of ways to keep their retainers clean without having to resort to buying denture cleaning products or brushing their retainers every night.

One company has found a solution with their product, Retainer Brite. Retainer Brite is something my wife stumbled upon after she first got her Invisalign retainers. Retainer Brite is made by a family-owned company called Denta Kit; they specialize in many types of dental care products. However, Retainer Brite is their number one product for cleaning retainers, most likely because of the relatively low cost at $13 for a three month supply and easy cleaning method. All you have to do is combine one Retainer Brite tablet with one cup of warm water into a special container. Just wait 10 minutes and watch the water change from blue to clear and your retainers are done!

We bought this product to test out the claims that your retainers will be crystal clear and clean. After two or three uses (just to test the consistency), we found that Retainer Brite does a good job of keeping the retainers fresh. However, you must make sure to rinse the retainers with cold water after the cleaning process or you'll be welcomed with a slightly minty, mouthwash taste.

How Retainer Brite differs from other dental care products like denture cleaners is that the Ph balance is specially configured for cleaning plastic. One problem people used to have with cleaning retainers with denture cleaning kits is that the plastic would yellow, which is something that Retainer Brite will not do.
