I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I still live in Wisconsin although there have been several decades where that was not the case...like when I lived in Frankfurt, Germany for two years while stationed in the Army, the year I spent in Washington D.C. working at the Pentagon before being discharged, and then there were several years I lived in various parts of the US, just to experience what life had to offer. Florida, Colorado, Michigan and finally...Wisconsin, again!Wisconsin is known for high taxes and for being in the forefront of making changes to "protect" it's citizens. I will admit the school system is one of the best in the country, but at what point does the State let it's adults make their own mistakes, allowing us to "live and learn?" I guess the answer to that is and always will be never!
I'll readily admit that many of the television ads that run for months on end are more fluff than fact. Just once I'd like to decide that for myself, however. After seeing a commercial with a friendly looking fox, touting a work-at-home website aptly named, "Crazy As A Fox", I chose to take a look at the site myself to see what it was all about.
I had no intention of getting involved in the "program" anymore than I wish to sell cosmetics door-to-door, but curiosity was getting the better of me. I wanted to know what their gimmick is.
Settling down at my computer one day after having seen this advertisement on television no less than 50 times, I typed the web address into my browser. A little bit of anticipation swept over me as I waited for the site to load. Then...the dreaded message appeared. Wisconsin prohibits the viewing of this site. Huh?
My jaw dropped as I shook my head in disbelief.
I well approve of government decisions that protect our children, but when a senior citizen is banned from supposedly "objectionable" websites, that is going too far!
