A couple of months ago I went to my cousin’s 50th birthday party and I have to tell you it was one of the greatest and nicest parties for a 50 year old person I have ever been to. Here are some designs for creating a wonderful 50th birthday party for a relative or friend without having to spend that much money on it.

The first thing to think about is who you are throwing the 50th birthday party for. Is it a friend or a relative and how well do you know them. The second step is to pick a theme and run with it and go wild. My cousin’s 50th birthday party featured the theme of things that were around during her childhood. The next step is to pick a location for a party such as a restaurant or a hotel ballroom or it could simply be your very own backyard in your house. The final step is to put together a guest list of people to invite and send out the invitations after you pick date for the party to happen.

Themes are very difficult to chose but after some careful brainstorming of your own you can find something that is original and to the delight of your guests. My cousin’s theme of childhood memories was refreshingly original. She had the Skyhawk brand chocolate bars that no longer exist because the candy store went out of business a few years ago. However it wasn’t just any plain chocolate bar.

The chocolate bar had 4 different types of chocolate such as caramel, peanuts, dark chocolate, wafer, white chocolate, etc. all in one bar. Another item at the party was pictures and table holders of famous celebrities during her childhood. She even had cute little salt and pepper shakers that her friends could take home as parting gifts. Little thimbles that she used to collect were scattered around the party which took place in the ballroom of a hotel.

The 50th birthday party doesn’t necessarily have to be a dinner affair either. It can be for the lunch time of an afternoon party or early in the morning and have breakfast served. My cousin’s party had chefs making omelets right in front of you and every kind of breakfast meal you could have.
