Quite Possibly the Most Addicting Game of All-Time

My first few weeks in college have been all about making adjustments. Essentially, I am living on my own for the first time, save for my three other roommates and various other friends that attend my university. I have to develop good eating habits; there’s no one to tell me when and what to eat. The same goes for my schooling. My professors could not care less about whether or not I pass or fail. I’m paying for the class and that is all that matters to them. It is solely my responsibility to me to create good study habits and do well on tests. Something happened to me though in those first few weeks on a college campus. My roommate’s mother sent us Guitar Hero, a game in which one plays a guitar controller while playing songs on the television screen. Imagine a Dance Dance Revolution using one’s fingers. After testing the game out for a few songs, which turned into many songs, which turned into many hours of play, I realized what would make my life complete. I now base my life Before Guitar Hero (BGH) and After Guitar Hero (AGH).
Needless to say, I am addicted. I wake up in the morning and go to class, like any self-respecting student with the desire to do well in school, but I come home and the guitar haunts me as I sit at my desk. I start reading a chapter from my psychology book, forgetting momentarily the unadulterated ecstasy I feel when the axe is firmly implanted in my grip and the shoulder strap that fits perfectly to my form as I have the guitar begging for mercy under my power. I manage to take some notes, but my mind tells me its time to take a break and go to the bathroom. I pass the game on my way to the bathroom in the hallway. I convince myself I don’t need to go that bad, so I play a song, not realizing I had just wet my pants (okay, I made that last part up, but it adds to the effect).

Takeaways
- This is a great game for fans of Dance Dance Revolution.
- The unique controller and gameplay makes this game very addictive.
- There is at least one song for everyone in this game.
