Tall Teen Girls Must Take the Plunge
Many very tall teen girls have it rough. Are you a tall teen girl who feels too tall, too tall to wear high heels? Too tall to go dancing? Too tall to go clubbing? Too tall to approach a young man? What about tall clothing? But finding tall clothing probably isn't your biggest problem.
A 17-year-old college girl who stands 6-2 tall posted her miseries recently on the "tall quotes" page of tallwomen.org. Her name is Angel and she sounds like a real angel, but all of the barriers that her extraordinary height cause are created by none other than Angel herself. Her post is
longer than most and she repeatedly laments about not being able to wear high heels.
Well, I say, Honey, if the shoe fits, wear it! I'm 5-8 and what I'd give to be six feet, even 6-2. Not that I'm miserable at 5-8, by no means. But I like being tall so much I want even more height. Had I been extra extra tall throughout my growing-up years, I would have relished it, rather than hated it. I explain why right here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/537019/how_i_know_that_if_id_grown_up_really.html
But back to Angel.
Angel speaks for many tall teen girls. Read the post by Abbi below hers. Abbi has the complete opposite view, is only 15 and 6 feet one and a half inches tall. Why doesn't Angel have the same mindset as Abbi? Parents have a lot to do with it. I don't mean parents' height, but whether or not parents have a knack for teaching their tall daughters to love their height.
Angel's biggest issue is high heels, she says.
I say, Angel, JUST DO IT. Buy the doggone high heels and strut your stuff. Better yet, visit one of those night clubs you've been hankering for but have avoided for fear of "everyone at the club saying 'Look at that tall girl.'" This is SO much like standing at the edge of the high dive board at a swimming pool. You've never dived from the high dive before, and looking down at the water, you are very afraid. Your heart pounds. You just can't bring yourself to take that plunge.
