The coming of the video age has provided the world with entertainment and news. The advent of streaming video on computer systems and made available on the internet widened the potential audience. Video-sharing social networking internet sites like YouTube.com have become extremely popular, especially among the more video-oriented and -cognizant younger generations. And although what is considered entertaining or news may be debatable, the fact has become that whatever can be recorded and uploaded will be in this day and age.

And that would include fights. Fistfights, gang fights, brawls, girl fights, staged fights, all kinds of fights. And of all those fights, some come from within (and without) educational institutions.

A video can be found on YouTube of a five-minute fight involving a multitude of students at Mill Creek High School in Horschton, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. An alert student captured quite a bit of the violence on a camera cellphone. Six students have been arrested and an investigation into the incident has been launched, spearheaded by the examination of the YouTube video and digital footage from school surveillance cameras. Other arrests may be pending.

The violence seems to have begun when members of a self-proclaimed gang calling themselves 2-1 (pronounced "two dash one") jumped another student in a school hallway. The violence escalated and spilled out into the Mill Creek commons area. Authorities are looking into the gang aspect and have promised to deal with participants according to gang regulations if the students fighting were indeed part of a gang.
