Super Smash Brothers Brawl: How to Unlock Wolf O Donnell "Star Wolf"

Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Nintendo Wii has it's fair share of interesting and fun characters, but one in particular stands out among the colorful crowd, Fox McCloud's longtime rival Wolf O' Donnell. Wolf O' Donnell, also referred to as "Star Wolf" or just "Wolf" is an unlockable character in Super Smash Brothers Brawl but unlocking him may prove to be a difficult task.

Wolf can be unlocked in one of two ways. The first method to unlocking Wolf is to play 450 Brawl matches. This can be a bit time consuming if you play regular brawls, and even in stock matches it can take quite a few hours to unlock Wolf. If you choose to unlock Wolf using the Brawl method the best way to go about doing so is to set the game to be played between Player 1 and one other Computer. The set the game type to Stock and 1 life for each player. Then choose a character with a strong down B move, like Yoshi, Bowser, or Kirby and during the course of each match jump off the edge of the arena and perform your Down B move. This will eliminate your character within a couple of seconds.

Using the method listed above will allow you to unlock not only Wolf, but other characters as well. Using the Brawl method should take you about an hour or so, that's just my estimate, maybe more, maybe less depending on the level you chose to play in and how fast you can purposely lose the match. Then once you hit 450 matches played you'll be confronted by Wolf O' Donnell. Once you defeat Wolf he will be unlocked as a playable character in all modes of Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

The other, and easier method of unlocking Wolf is to clear Boss Battle Mode as Fox McCloud. This can be done on any difficulty, so obviously you'll want to chose easy. During the course of your fights you'll be confronted by all of the boss characters that you defeated during the Subspace Emissary Missions. These will include Porky, Metal Ridly, Master Hand, Taboo along with many others. The best way to go about winning in Boss Battle mode is to try and defeat 2 or 3 bosses before using one of the 5 heart containers you are given at the in-between stage.
