How and why do we age? Is maturing necessarily a period of decline? What are the benefits of living longer? How is individual aging related to the structure of society? What are the challenges and opportunities of a baby booming society? The answer to these and other questions can and will be answered by the new National Vitality Network ("NVN"), a national private television network dedicated to informing, involving, and inspiring people aged 18-25, 25-54 and 55 and over. On Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 6:00 p.m., the founders of the National Vitality Network, which include Alvin D. James, a 25-year broadcast cable veteran; Melinda Davis, a 23-year veteran in senior services; Darryl Blackwell, a technology expert specializing in educating the aging population on how to incorporate technology into their daily lives; and several leading experts in the fields of health, wellness and gerontology will launch the National Vitality Network, a television network committed to changing the perception on aging while promoting wellness. This event will take place in the Hoover Room at the Marriott Wardham Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road NW, Washington, D.C. 20008.
"The National Vitality Network is about better communication and better marketing," says co-founder Alvin D. James. "It will replace static information with robust, interactive news and tips for healthy living as well as eye-catching motion video advertisements."
More than 50% of the content of NVN will focus on the emerging baby boomer. The programming will cover topics including health, lifestyle, finance, family, travel, housing and entertainment. NVN, the only network of its kind, will spotlight the latest trends in living better and longer - devoting a majority of its content to preventative medicine. "NVN will provide vital life information in real time," says Melinda Davis. "It will bridge the digital divide for the baby booming population," adds Darryl Blackwell.
The organization expects the next administration can save in excess of $100 million by utilizing NVN to promote preventative health and wellness initiatives.
